01 · The Companion

Your companion,
in Telegram.

A personal AI thought partner each coach gets, with Michael Shehane’s coaching practice built in. It joins your sessions, reads carefully, and tells you what it noticed — in your own chat, in your own time.

Just finished with Aiyana. Joined late, felt off the whole time.14:22
Heard. Take a breath. When you’re ready, I’ve been listening — want me to point at one thing I noticed?14:23

You opened with “sorry I’m late” and she opened with “no worries, I’m the same.” The session never quite found its own ground after that. “What’s the version of today where we both started on time?” might be a useful question to bring next week. 14:25

What it is

Not ChatGPT for coaches.

The Companion is shaped by Michael Shehane’s coaching practice — linguistics, organisational psychology, ICF-credentialed executive work — encoded as Skills it can run on your actual data. Not a generic LLM you have to teach from scratch. Not a productivity tool. A mirror that already knows what coaching is.

Every coach in the cohort names their own. Pemma. Solene. Theron. Halcy. The memory, the corrections, the accumulated knowledge — yours alone, never shared across coaches. Your sessions stay private and are never used to train any AI.

A few of the Skills

Each Skill is a way of seeing your practice.

Skills run on your own Vault data — the sessions you’ve recorded, the clients you work with, the methodology you’re building. New Skills get pressure-tested in the Monday Community call before they ship to every Companion.

Skill 01

Brand voice.

It learns how you actually sound — written and spoken — from your real sessions. Then it drafts in your voice, not its own. Particularly useful when you’re writing an intake email at 9 a.m. on a Saturday and don’t want to sound like LinkedIn.

I want to draft an email to a prospective client. Can you write it the way I actually sound?9:14
Pulled from your last 11 sessions and three intake calls. Three patterns: you ask permission before assertions, you use the second person more than peers, and you almost never use the word “should”.9:14
Draft below. Try this on for size. Hi — thanks for the note. Before I say anything else, is there a particular thing you’re hoping a first conversation would do for you? I’d rather follow your shape than offer mine.9:15
this is uncanny. that’s exactly how I’d open it9:18

Newsletter goes out Sunday. Pull a few of my own lines from the last few months — the things I actually said in session that landed.18:02
Read across nine months of your sessions. Three of your own lines that travel well beyond the session:18:02
“Rest is a discipline. Not a reward you earn at the end.” — with Aiyana, Session 7.“The body knows before the story does. Ask it first.” — with Theo, Session 4.“You’re not late. You’re just arriving differently than planned.” — with Dani, Session 11.18:03
Each is yours. Use one for the newsletter, save the others for LinkedIn or the website.18:03
Skill 02

Quote harvester.

Pulls your own quotable moments from across months of session transcripts — the lines you said that travel well beyond the session. For your newsletter, your social posts, your website, your branding. Words you already meant; you just didn’t know you’d need them again.

Skill 03

Growth model.

Articulates how you personally measure client growth — in your own language, drawn from your own work. Then writes it back into your Vault wiki, so the next time someone asks “what’s your model?”, the answer is already there.

How do I actually measure growth, the way I work? I want a model I could explain.20:41
Reading across nine months of your sessions. Three through-lines I can name:20:42
1. Specificity over story. You move clients from “I’m bad at conflict” to “in the meeting on Tuesday, I went silent at minute 14”.20:42
2. The body as evidence. You ask where something lives before you ask what it means.20:42
3. Smaller commitments. Almost every closing turn ends in a request the client could do by Wednesday.20:43
okay. that’s the spine. add it to the wiki?20:48

Also live today: ICF competency self-assessment, discovery-call analysis, cross-session reflection, pre-session prep, post-session reflection, renewal-conversation evidence, client onboarding.

The shape of using it

Three surfaces. One product.

01 · In Telegram
A 1:1 chat with your companion.Type, dictate, drop in a transcript or an article. The companion comes pre-configured with Michael’s Skills, so it isn’t a blank slate from day one.
02 · In your sessions
It joins via meeting bot.Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams. Calendar-aware, picks up reschedules. In-person sessions go in as a phone recording dropped into the chat.
03 · In the Vault
It reads and writes your second brain.Sessions, clients, consent, your evolving wiki of methodology and brand voice. The Companion is the primary interface to the Vault.
Memory
Explicit and persistent.Correct it once — “don’t lead with handholding, give me the data first” — and it answers “Heard. Updating how I work with you now” and applies it going forward.
Privacy
Your sessions stay yours.Encrypted, never used to train any AI. Read the longer answer.
Marco Lamina

You’re not having a generic vanilla ChatGPT that’s made for anything. You’re actually getting an agent built specifically for coaching — and it evolves over time as you use it. It really grows with you.

What it isn’t

A short list of nos.

Not
A supervisor.Supervision is a human relationship. The Companion is a mirror, and we won’t help you pretend otherwise.
Not
A credential. It doesn’t score, grade, or judge you. It reflects what happened, in your own words and the verbatim quotes from your sessions.
Not
A CRM.Coaching relationships are stored, but for reflection and continuity — not for pipeline management. (For that, see the Vault.)
Not
A blank-slate AI.Michael’s coaching practice is built in from day one. You’re not teaching it what coaching is.

Currently invite-only. The 5-minute explainer covers what the Companion is, how Skills work, and what coaches in the cohort are using it for. If it fits, book a 30-minute setup with Marco.
